Well, we made it to North Carolina! First leg of this journey is in the books. We made a stop in Memphis at our third Cracker Barrel (yes, our third, which is about 2 less than ideal for me, and about 3 more than ideal for my hubby haha). Had a nice dinner with family who live in the area before getting back on the road. The next day we spent an afternoon and night with another family friend - a gal who just moved from San Diego to Nashville. Had a great dinner and got to meet her brand new baby girl!! Soooo precious that little one. Next morning we were back in the road with just over 500 miles to go to our final destination for this leg: Raeford, NC.  Got there safe & sound! Her little town is quaint and rural. And hot and humid!!! The house they just closed escrow on a few days ago is super cute.  Even the cat loves it (although I think she’s super happy just to not be in a moving vehicle anymore). Now we’re here for a couple days before heading back west to Reno. It’ll be a tough goodbye for sure but we’re so happy and excited for her.

All in all I would say it was a smooth 2,500 miles. Lost a hub cap in AZ, and a generator exhaust bracket and half of a fender in Arkansas when we hit some unavoidable debris in the road. My husband said we hit an alligator and in my mind I was like, we are no where NEAR Florida - what’s an alligator doing out here?! But that’s trucker talk for tire tread haha. But all is well, thanks to duct tape and zip ties!!  :)
